Report Launched on the Status of Funding for Indigenous Women’s Groups

A Call to Action Report Cover

Three Channel partners – the Association for Women’s Rights in Development (AWID), the International Indigenous Women’s Forum (FIMI), and International Funders for Indigenous Peoples (IFIP) – have launched a joint report which provides a first-of-its kind snapshot of the funding landscape for Indigenous women’s organizing. The report, A Call to Action: Insights Into the Status of Funding for Indigenous Women’s Groups, released Oct. 19, 2016, shares findings from a collaborative study on resourcing Indigenous women’s rights. By unpacking the history and available data on funding for indigenous women’s groups, the report provides an essential resource that shares lessons learned, highlights key findings, and outlines recommendations on how to build stronger bridges between funders and Indigenous women’s organizations.

The report includes a case study looking at Channel’s long partnership with FCAM: “A Powerful Partnership: Channel Foundation and CAWF/FCAM Seeding & Nurturing Grassroots Change.”
