Channel Foundation grantees the Women’s Rights Commission (WRC) and Mobility International USA (MIUSA) announced new fellowships in the Spring of 2026 that they have launched this year as part of their strategies to help women’s rights activists and researchers to scale up their work contributing to a more equitable and feminist world.
WRC welcomes first Humanitarian Future Fellows
In April 2026, WRC welcomed their first cohort of Humanitarian Futures Fellows, six women researchers from diverse backgrounds exploring the “intersection of gender, displacement and humanitarian systems.”
The fellowship supports these mid-career researchers through funding, guidance, and collaborative opportunities. Research projects from the 2026 cohort cover a wide range of global topics including how displacement impacts Sudanese women’s access to health services and feminist systems of care for displaced women in Syria.
“Over the eight-month program, fellows will generate research that challenges conventional humanitarian approaches and promotes inclusive, feminist alternatives,” WRC explained about the fellowship.
MIUSA Expands Impact with Global Fellowship
Coinciding with their 45th anniversary, MIUSA announced the launch of their Global Fellowship in May 2026. The first group of Fellows comprise 24 MIUSA alumni from 22 countries, including 20 alumnae from MIUSA’s Women’s Institute on Leadership and Disability (WILD) program, who have demonstrated outstanding leadership. The fellowship acknowledges these leaders and provides opportunities to scale up and amplify their activism for people with disabilities.
“We need the expertise, innovations, perspectives and contributions of these Global Fellows to find solutions to today’s complex problems,” MIUSA wrote.
The Global Fellowship connects Fellows to a broader network of leaders in international development, women’s leadership, philanthropy and other areas. Fellows will engage in activities including community webinars and MIUSA’s first-ever Global Disability Leadership Lab.
“We are proud to continue on our path together, to ensure that disabled people take their rightful place as leaders in this complex world,” MIUSA stated.
Channel feels confident that these Fellowships will have a profound impact on our Focus Areas of Furthering Feminist Crisis Response and on Promoting the Rights of Women with Disabilities.
