On International Women’s Day 2026, Channel Foundation grantee Mobility International USA (MIUSA) shared the impact of their Women’s Institute on Leadership and Disability (WILD) alumni as they led impactful programs for women and girls with disabilities in 18 of the alumni’s home countries. MIUSA featured three trainings that WILD delegates ran in Indonesia, Guatemala and Benin over the past year, taking the leadership they gained from their three-week intensive training at the 2025 WILD program to further transform lives of women with disabilities across the world.
Indonesia
In Indonesia, WILD delegate Aisyah Ardani led a three-day training program on disability leadership and advocacy for women with diverse backgrounds, ages and disabilities. (Read about the full event here.) The 24 participants completed activities including listening to guest disability advocates’ experiences, a self-defense workshop, and cybersecurity training.
Participants developed their leadership skills through proposing advocacy projects including documentaries to reduce stigma towards disabilities and healthcare access trainings for disabled women.

Guatemala
On November 25, 2025, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, WILD Delegate Pahola Solano led a workshop for 22 Guatemalan women with disabilities on “derecho a vivir una vida libre de violencia,” the right to live a life free from violence. The training informed women of their legal protections, along with how to recognize and report abuse. One participant reflected, “I’m leaving different than when I arrived because now, I know my rights better.”
“It was a wonderful experience to conduct this workshop,” Solana said. “The women with disabilities who participated were thankful to be in a space where they felt empowered, free, and uncensored, and able to be themselves and express themselves without limitations.”
Benin
WILD Delegate Marliese Montcho ran a WILD Leadership Development program for 22 women with disabilities in Benin.
The training featured a panel of women who shared their journey in becoming leaders in disability advocacy, creating space for attendees to see their own potential as leaders and challenge stereotypes.
The training commenced with participants turning ideas into action, create plans for projects such as mentorship for young disabled women, a social media campaign against Gender Based Violence, and advocacy for maternal care.
“This WILD–Benin training was a transformative experience for participants and organizers alike. It demonstrated the power of localized leadership training inspired by global programs like WILD,” Montcho said. Read more about the transformative experience here.

MIUSA looks forward to supporting future women leaders at their upcoming 2026 Advanced WILD program, where women from over 91 countries will attend.
