Mission:
Grupo de Información en Reproducción Elegida (GIRE) seeks to increase knowledge on reproductive and sexual rights and health in Mexico, and also advocates to ensure implementation of laws and policies that favor reproductive and sexual rights and health and for improved public policies, where possible. GIRE conducts advocacy with governmental and non-governmental bodies and policy makers. Its goal is to encourage reforms that facilitate the exercise of human rights, specifically recognition and respect for sexual and reproductive health and rights, in Mexico. More specifically, GIRE’s Inter-Institutional Relations Department has three principal programs: 1) Advocacy with Policy Makers at the National Level; 2) Legal Strategies and Public Interest Litigation at the National Level; and 3) International Advocacy and Public Interest Litigation.
