Mission:

The Dalan Fund’s (formerly known as CEECCNA Collaborative Fund) mission is to be a vehicle led and guided by the intersectional movements from Central and Eastern Europe, Caucasus, and Central and North Asia (CEECCNA regions) to raise, leverage, and move more resources to grassroots organizers, and historically and presently excluded communities in crises.

Channel Grant:

2023: Channel made a grant to the Dalan Fund through the fiscal sponsorship of Women Win Foundation Inc. to support their launch as they focus on establishing themselves as an organization, resource mobilization, the development of grantmaking programs, knowledge production, communications, and advocacy.

The rationale and process for setting up this new fund is described in a March 7, 2023 blog post “Turning crisis into long-term action: Seeding a Collaborative Fund for Central and Eastern Europe, Caucasus, and Central and North Asia (ceeccna) Region” for the Human Rights Funders Network (HRFN). As the authors and co-founders, Nino Ugrekhelidze and Angelika Arutyunova, point out, the new funding mechanism’s aim is to to respond to the complex realities of the region and to move beyond “the mode of ‘one crisis at a time.” Their aim is for the fund to facilitate better resourcing of social justice movements and to “serve as a vehicle for funders—both old and new—in the region to invest in the visions, propositions, and leadership of local organizers.”
