Eqbal Ahmad Foundation

Mission:

To promote peaceful resolution of the conflict between India and Pakistan over Kashmir and advocate for nuclear disarmament. Named after one of Pakistan’s most respected radical progressives who died a few years ago, the Eqbal Ahmad Foundation is a registered 501c3 charitable organization.

Channel Grant:

2005: Channel made a grant to the Eqbal Ahmad Foundation (EAF) to support the QAU-EAF Earthquake Relief Fund set up at the Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) in Islamabad, Pakistan for distribution to regional groups participating in relief and recovery operations.

The founder of the Eqbal Ahmad Foundation, Zia Mian, is a physicist at Princeton University’s Program on Science and Global Security, where he directs the Project on Peace and Security in South Asia and teaches at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. He has previously taught at Quaid-e-Azam University and worked at the Sustainable Development Policy Institute, Islamabad.
