Background & Goals: At the time of application to WLS, Romina Fascendini worked in the field of community development, sexual and reproductive health, gender violence and HIV/AIDS prevention.  She worked as a community development coordinator for Community Projects at the Association of Social Perspectives organizing primarily in four marginalized urban communities in Cordoba, Argentina relating to the prevention and advancement of sexual and reproductive health.  Fascendini also worked with the Instituto de Estudios Comparados en Ciencias, Penales, y Socialies (INECIP) as a member of their academic team training leaders from different levels of the province on gender equality and the rights of individuals living with HIV/AIDS.  Fascendini hoped to use her studies to mainstream gender into her work and to incorporate theoretical guidelines and new approaches and tools.
