Background & Goals: Anne Grace Najjuka’s goals included determining the causes of wasting syndrome in HIV infected Ugandans, and developing health policy and interventions for nutritional deficiency in this population. Her dissertation was entitled “Asymptomatic HIV-Chronically Infected HAART Naïve Persons with CD Counts 201-350/ml. To treat now or not to treat? A Proposal for a Randomised Placebo Controlled Trial.”

Post-Degree Projects: After finishing her degree, Najjuka began working with the Global Polio Eradication Initiative/ EPI with the CDC, USA /World Health Organization in Nigeria. Her job entailed improving delivery of routine immunization, overseeing supplemental national polio/measles immunization campaigns, and integrated disease surveillance.
