Channel Foundation is excited to announce the launch of a thought-provoking three part podcast on September 17th, 2024 – Moonshot: Making the Equality Fund, that highlights the groundbreaking work of the Equality Fund. This Fund represents an unprecedented collaboration in feminist funding, combining $300 million in multi-year support from the Canadian government and the UK International Development – now Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, with global feminist grant making and innovative investments. As a member of Gender Funders CoLab (formerly PAWHR), Channel Foundation played a supporting role in helping secure the winning bid for the Equality Fund which was announced in 2019. Channel Foundation has been a proud partner in this journey, providing funding through the Co-Lab’s Strategic Collaboration to Leverage Resources (SCLR) Pooled Fund and supporting the Equality Fund’s vision to fuel women’s rights movements globally.
This partnership is redefining how feminist futures are funded, bringing together diverse allies from across sectors to create sustainable resources for feminist movements.
In the podcast, the Equality Fund’s investment arm is highlighted as a key component that is envisioned to be sustainable and is built on feminist principles. This innovative approach ensures that investments align with the core values of gender justice, creating a truly transformative model for funding feminist futures. The podcast delves into the behind-the-scenes work of this bold initiative and showcases how the Equality Fund is transforming global philanthropy.
